Q + A

What is the date and time of the wedding?

Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 4:30 PM until 9:30 PM

Where is the wedding taking place?

The wedding ceremony and reception will both be at Yamashiro Hollywood, located at 1999 N Sycamore Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90068. The space is a historic piece of Hollywood's history and has been featured in movies like "Kill Bill" and "Memoirs of a Geisha". The property is nestled in the Hollywood Hills above Sunset Blvd and includes a restaurant, Yamashiro Gardens, and the Hollywood Hills Hotel.

What is the dress code?

Formal cocktail: please dress to impress! However, we kindly ask that you not wear a full white or full red dress. Since the wedding will be in located in the open-air courtyard garden in November in the evening, there is a good chance temperatures will drop to the low 70s. There will be heated lamps on site, but feel free to bring an extra layer.

Is there a parking area?

Yamashiro has valet parking. However, we encourage anyone planning on enjoying the open bar to use a Ride Share like Uber or Lyft.

Are children invited?

We empathize with everyone's travel plans! If you plan on bringing your children, we ask that you notify us at least one month before the wedding so we can make the proper meal and seating accommodations.

What time should I arrive?

We ask that you arrive by 4:30 to be seated for the ceremony (which will be short and sweet).

Will there be a cocktail hour?

Yes! We will have an open bar available after the ceremony, all under the same roof as the reception.

What kind of food and drink will be served?

Our menu is Asian -fusion American, just like us! The meal will be buffet style, and we will have a variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Please check the Menu section of the website to see specifics.

Will there be any special cultural ceremonies or traditions?

In lieu of a gift registry, in our culture, it is traditional to give red envelopes, known as "Hongbao", in place of physical gifts for weddings. The red envelope symbolizes good luck and prosperity, and the gesture is more important than the amount inside. You can bring your red envelope or wedding card to the wedding reception, where there will be a special box to collect them. For those who prefer, we also have an online option under "Registry" to give a monetary gift, which will be used in the same spirit of tradition.

Who should I contact if I have any additional questions?

Please feel free to contact either Austin or Annie for any questions you might have!
